What are Zones and Why have them?
One of the unique features of the EFETc is that it is the creator of the "Zone Based" contract. This means that either FOB Destination or Dock pricing is available to any member Purchaser. In short, the basic net price of the product is fixed nationally as per the manufacturer's price book. But the delivery is adjusted to fairly manage freight charges. Thus, the contract's pricing is not elevated nationally to address every possible delivery point. Instead, the freight is priced per Zone.
